Lakewood, CO - A restaurant server, Brianna Priddy, who works at Applebee restaurant in Lakewood, Colorado, helped to put identity thief behind bars after she was handed her own stolen driver's license by her customer.
THE Denver Post reports that Brianna Priddy's wallet was stolen on February 13, during a night out with friends. The thief took her cash, credit cards and worst of all, her driver's license. According to 9News Priddy's identity was used to write hundreds of dollars in bad checks.
Priddy told 9News " My Wallet was stolen. It was a pain in a butt".
On February 25, the customers came to the Applebee restaurant where Priddy works. a groups of people sat down and started ordering drinks. At first they looked like regular customers . Priddy said, "Four people come in, sit down and start ordering drinks. This girl hands me my ID as a fake ID… But I did not say anything. I handed it back to her and said sure I'll be back with your margarita…went straight to the phone and called the cops".
The police arrived in minutes. The woman, who's name has not been released, was arrested on suspicion of theft, identity theft and criminal impersonation. Police also found narcotics in her possession (Yahoo News.com)
Police spokesman Steve Davis told 9News that this is a one of the most bizarre cases he has come across his 30 years of service. Even more bizarre is that the suspect is 26 and old enough to use her own ID to buy drinks. "Dumb criminal!" Davis added.
